Lit Review Ideas
I think for the literary review I’d like to focus on the neglect of patient care for people in mental institutions (psychiatric facilities). Something that I already know about this topic is that there aren’t enough workers and psychiatric professionals in the field causing them to prioritize some patients while not giving other patients the attention they need. Another portrayal of neglect is evident considering that suicide rates are higher for people who recently leave mental health facilities from being discharged too early (lack of resources and availability). In my research, I’d like to learn about the disparities amongst different races when it comes to mental health ( more specifically the statistics about people from different races who are admitted to these facilities and what exactly is the standard of care they are receiving). I’d also like to learn about strategies or ideas implemented to combat the neglect and disparities seen in patient care.

Science in the Movies Presentation
Group 5 – Ayesha, Joseph, Folake, Anallely, Katherine
- One thing I learned about was a polar vortex. The polar vortex describes what happened in Texas, where a wave of cold that moved a cloud of cold far into the South due to global warming.
- The group explained the story well, and described how it was influenced by global warming in real life.
- Maybe talk a bit slower
- I really liked how they addressed that the movie shows an alternate reality where instead of global warming there is global freezing. It makes everyone think about climate change.
Group 4 – Ana, Ifa, Michelle, Chanda, Lois
- Many people believe that artificial intelligence can take over the world
- The group had a lot of good imagery
- Be a bit more descriptive about the movie
- I like that they clarified that technology isn’t bad but that the people who use technology are bad.
Group 1 – Michelle, Ben, Anay, Jenin
- A present day wall – e is the roomba which is a robot that vacuums your home
- They did a great job at comparing the past with the future from Wall – E
- Maybe organize the presentation better
- I like the facts that they brought in from the present world such as bone structure decaying due to microgravity
Group 6 – Nafisha, Leondra, Athea, Jimmy, Yasmine
- The machine guns predicted in the movie are very closely related to our modern machine and weaponry.
- They did a good job breaking down the presentation
- They seem a bit unorganized
- I like their final conclusions about the movie and connected in to our modern world.
Group 3 – Cinthya, Obinna, Paola, Zitlaly
- When things are moving really fast they could look slow
2.)They did a great job at connecting the movie to the real world
3.)Maybe clarify the characters a bit more
4.) I really like their movie selection and it makes me want to watch it
