Research Paper ROUGH DRAFT

GMOs Rough Draft

For this paper, I’m writing about GMOs, and the benefit of having them in our foods. I will discuss why there is such a large debate surrounding GMOs, why GMOs are needed, why people hate GMOs, and lastly what alternatives are out in the world for people to try if they aren’t interested in ingesting GMOs.

Introduction:

  • I think I’d like to start with a quote to make the readers interested in the paper
  • I think the biggest thing I’d like to address in my introduction is what GMOs are, and where they are seen. Doing this will give readers an idea about what my paper is going to be about. I’m going to expand on GMOs in my first body paragraph.
  • I’d like to conclude this paragraph with my thesis statement, “though there are a multitude of negatives as well as alternative methods for consuming GMOs, the pros largely outweigh the cons making the altered organisms essential to supporting and supplying resources to an ever-growing world with ever-growing needs”.

Body Paragraph 1:

  • In this paragraph, I’d like to talk about what GMOs are again, as well as broaden the topic, by clarifying why GMOs have been introduced to our diets. It is essential in this part of the paper for me to clearly show what GMOs are, and how abundant they are in modern agriculture

Body Paragraph 2 and 3:

  • In these paragraphs I’d like to focus on the benefits of GMOs, and how they not only enhance the longevity of our food, but influences how we view food and its purpose.

Body paragraph 4 and 5:

  • In these paragraphs I’d like to go over some of the negatives surrounding GMOs. while my stand on the importance of GMOs will be clear, it is important for me to address the naysayers and explain why GMOs are more beneficial than harmful.

Conclusion:

  • In my conclusion, I’d like to summarize what I said throughout the paper. I hope to briefly address both the negatives and positives of GMOs, alternative options, and the overall need for GMOs.

I know this is a really ROUGH rough draft, but I have my structure, and this is my outline… enjoy!
